SIT WITH YOUR MIEDO
With her uncanny voice like a human theremin, La Sumac —like The Moon/La Luna— is here to ask: What are you afraid of? What are your dreams telling you? What’s keeping you up at night? La Sumac is a dual card speaking to your depths—the depths of anxiety and fear, but also the depths of your intuition and embodied knowing.
If you get this card in a reading, ask yourself: What messages is my subconscious trying so desperately to give me? Listen with your whole body. Let the thinking mind take a break. What rituals, what symbols, what brujería is required of you at this time? What is the black cat on the left trying to tell you?
Allow the moon flowers to open and glow in the dark, lighting a path ahead. Listen to the full range of your intuitive voices, from the high-pitched glass-shatterers to the lowest of the bone voices. Vibrate with them, embrace the unease, liberate the coded messages. It’s all there for you to uncover, under the moonlight, if you can sit with your miedo and listen for answers.

If you didn’t know… Yma Sumac was a Peruvian-American singer. The lobster has teeth as pincers; in dream psychology, losing teeth in dreams is a symbol of fear of loss and important life changes. And who isn’t afraid of getting stuck in an elevator?
